Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is a measurement that indicates the amount of ultraviolet radiation required to burn an area of skin protected by sunscreen. The higher the SPF number, the stronger the protection against those rays. When you hear “broad spectrum,” that means it protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
UVA rays have longer wavelengths and are associated with skin aging issues, whereas UVB rays have shorter wavelengths and contribute to skin burning. Both UVA and UVB rays cause damage to skin cells and can lead to skin cancer and a variety of other conditions.

Yes, JACKET is water resistant for up to 80 minutes. This is the maximum water-resistance claim permitted by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which is the governing body for sunscreens in the U.S. Formulated for performance, and with athletes and adventurers in mind, JACKET holds up against extreme sweat as well.
No. JACKET is non-comedogenic, meaning it will not block pores and reduces the risk of blackhead and whitehead formation, as well as acne breakouts.
Please note that there are currently no regulations in place for usage of the term “non-comedogenic,” so many products make the claim whether they are or not. JACKET is not of of those! If you are unsure about a product, please consult a dermatologist before using.

Absorbing sunscreen with pluses
I wasn’t sure about using this on my face because I always breakout from other sunscreens. This one hasn’t had that issue. I have been using it after my serum and in place of a moisturizer since it has so much goodness in it. It absorbs well, I have not broken out, and my skin has actually looked a little better lately. Ultraviolet radiation is a carcinogen that causes and contributes to various types of skin cancer. Overexposure to UVA and/or UVB rays alters the DNA of skin cells in the affected area(s), increasing the cancer risk. Typically, when caught early, skin cancer is treatable and curable, but it can be deadly. More importantly, by wearing sunscreen, protecting your skin and scheduling check-ups with a dermatologist, you can make skin cancer more preventable.

Yes. Interestingly, JACKET was originally positioned as a sunscreen for men when it was first introduced in 2016. This sunscreen actually faded my age spots away. It’s amazing.
